Hey all,
Normally, I don't do this, but it's one of those times where I seriously need the help; otherwise, I'd muscle it out like always. My electric wheelchair requires replacement as the seatback has gone out, the wheels are starting to wear again, and the batteries and footrests have been borrowed. The recline feature has been out for 4 years, and the struts and bearings will be out, meaning the chair won't sit on the ground properly. The Chair itself is 8 years old. I use it to get to and from work every day and have for the last 8 years as that's its primary use and for getting me outdoors around the complex when wanting to get outside.
I’m hoping to raise the last bit I need as 80% of it is being covered by insurance and I have about $600.00 of it right now.
Why the New Wheelchair Is Essential:
A new electric wheelchair is not just a mobility device — it’s a lifeline. Here’s why:
Increased Mobility: This allows me to move through my daily routine, getting me an easy and independent back and forth to work and live without the constant worry of my current chair breaking down and me missing work and having to be off
Independence & Dignity help me feel more in control of my life. Having a reliable means of mobility means fewer limits on my participation in work and community activities.
How the Funds Will Be Used:
The funds raised will go directly toward the purchase of the chair which would last me the next 5-7 years
Ways You Can Help:
Monetary Contributions: Every donation, no matter the size, helps. Even small amounts add up and make a meaningful impact.
Sharing My Story: If you cannot donate financially, spreading the word is just as powerful. Sharing this campaign with everyone could connect me with someone who can contribute or offer support in other ways.
I appreciate any help you can give. Thank you all!
