On the evening of November 30th as I was on my way home from picking up medical supplies, a car ran a red light speeding through a crosswalk hitting me while in my wheelchair. Fortunately I only sustained minor injuries, but my wheelchair on the other hand was destroyed. Of course with my luck my insurance won’t cover the cost of a replacement. My chair gives me so much freedom and unfortunately disabled people's freedom does not come cheap(for insight my my last chair was 7k). Luckily I was able to find a local medical supply company that was able to get me fitted for the kind of chair that I need which can also be expedited so I am not having to go several months without one. I wish this was not my only option to get a quaility chair that I need again, and I wish that mobility devices weren’t so expensive but I really have no other option. I have a hard time asking for help and this really is my last option after such a wretched incident.
