HAPPY 2020, FOLKS!
We're still pushing to raise $50,000 to bring clean water to FIVE major community locations across the City of Flint! All of which have been without safe water since April 2014.

Here's your chance to help support Flint residents! So far, our team has raised $5,092 of our first goal of $11,000 to implement a water filtration system into First Union Baptist Church. HOORAY!

Pumped to do this for FOUR more neighborhood centers in the community. Thankfully, we have kicked off the second part of our campaign with a $10,000 offline donation from our friends at the Pipkin Foundation! And, to top it off, our new partners Planet Protein and two-time WBC super middleweight champion, Anthony Dirrell, have joined our mission and declare they are #HereforFlint!

THE PLAN
For more than three years, our team has  been developing a sustainable business model to help solve the Flint Water Crisis. We've partnered with a squad of scientists and engineers to adopt a Point of Entry (POE) water treatment technology procedure that has gone through extensive testing by the DEQ (EGLE) to reduce over 99% of lead and other harmful toxins. We are employing licensed Flint contractors to help implement our plan and are thrilled to replicate this model throughout the City of Flint.

Check out the video below for more details!

IMMEDIATE GOAL for HASSELBRING SENIOR CENTER
As mentioned, our immediate goal is to raise $11,000 to implement Point of Entry (POE) water filtration technology into a church that serves 100+ children and adults (ages 0 to 89 years old) per week. This will ultimately allow church members to use their tap again and provide them with a quality way of life.

This house of worship, located on the Northwest side of Flint, is used 24 to 28 days per month for Sunday service, community events, meetings, repasts, and other neighborhood activities.

THE PROBLEM FOR FIRST UNION BAPTIST CHURCH

The First Union Baptist Church congregation must use bottled water for cooking and cleaning and has water delivered to the church on a weekly basis. In fact, it takes more than a case of 40 bottles of water to wash collard greens and make coffee for guests during one event. Pastor Archie Powell Jr. and church members spend roughly $200-250 every month on bottled water to keep their church alive. That doesn't even include their $191 monthly water bill for water they can't use!

From the members: " On behalf of Reverend Archie Powell, Jr. the members of the First Union Baptist Church, appreciate your efforts to help us. This filtration system is very important to us; as we all know water is very important. At the church we need it for drinking, cooking, and for our baptisms; as a whole, we would feel a lot better knowing that our water is safe to use in all of these capacities. It is a challenge living in Flint and we all know what happened to our water source. Again, thank you for your efforts to help First Union obtain this system."

OUR EXPANDED GOAL
We've increased our project goal to $50,000 to complete FIVE clean water projects in Flint, Michigan!

The issue of clean water expands across the City. That's why we've decided to tackle FOUR additional community centers and churches to install a whole water filtration system that will allow them to use their tap again!

PROJECT LOCATION #2
Excited to announce that our next project location is Hasselbring Senior Center!
