My name Kelly, I'm 75 years old living in my RV in Oakland. And recently the transmission failed on my truck that I've had for almost a decade and it now has over 320,000 miles on it. Never the less,it has always been very reliable and overworked, and now so many things are starting to fail.
I use my truck to aid my unhoused neighbors during encampment evictions, to drive people to medical appointments, to the grocery store, to help tow their cars and RV's out, and in countless other ways. It's not just essential to me but for the entire community. Often I am the only one who has a registered, insured vehicle.
I've been in the Bay for over 33 years working as a licensed electrician. I also need my truck to get to work, go to my own medical appointments and to move my RV, which is most important as it contains my life. And someday soon, maybe April, I hope to start touring California. And I so very much want to visit Mount Rushmore.
Where I'm currently parked the surrounding businesses want us to move because of new construction plans, and I want to be good neighbor and comply. However, I have been broke down for seven months now. So getting a good running newer used truck as soon as possible is essential. And hopefully, with good maintenance, it will last me the rest of my time.
I would like to Thank You in advance for your help and support in acquiring an upgrade in my transportation.
I will donate this old truck to an organization for abused or battered women and children.
May God Bless You All.
