2020 just keeps giving us the hits!
We noticed that there was water around the indoor AC/Furnace unit last week and had service come out and take a look. It turns out the drain pan under the coils is cracked (behind the silver panel with Carrier on it behind the flue pip) and water running into the electronics of the system. Water was literally pooled in the area under the controls int he front. It's a 28 year old system so the only real choice here is to replace the system. I'm not going to lie, this has been a hard year for us with replacing the truck, vet bills and more. It's beyond frustrating because we have always prided ourselves at being able to take care of ourselves. We can do it but it's going to be a stretch and we are going to have to finance things and add another monthly payment) . We have already planned to dump what we have saved up into this to make the amount financed less. I have had a few ask if they can kick a few bucks in so decided I would do this to make things easier.
Our goal is something dependable that we don't have to worry about conking out. Something that will be energy efficient and hopefully lower the electric/gas bills. Our house was built in 1898 and has a simple one zone system which we are fine with. When central air and heat was added they built duct work through the center of the house and all of that is fine. We just need the Furnace (Gas) and AC
Anything will help and every dollar goes to making the repair, that is a promise
Pan is cracked behind this panel

The bottom where all the wiring connections and controls are is full of water.
