Replacement for stolen equipment

Its a Christmas-Miracle as we reached the initial goal of 1000€ within 21 hours. I am completely blown away. Most of the donations are comming from writers, artists, publishers and clients I highly respect and whose works I enjoy. So I am not only feel happy about the support, but also about the feelings of community and friendship. I may have lost my gear, but won something I never had expected to experience: True generosity and support.

Original Story:

Hi everybody,

My name is Vandel, I am a cartography artist working for many games, books and museums, creating historical and fantastical maps for all kinds of projects.

On Christmas 2016, just a few days ago, thiefs broke in my home and studio and stole most of my equipement. I am an illustrator working with digital tools (if you wonder if someone stole my ink and brushes). This includes scanner for old parchment and historical documents, digital drawing tools like graphic tablets, digital camera and a transportable working computer.

Without my gear, I can not create more artworks and this brings me here. Several friends and fans of my work have told me to ask for help. That there are gentle souls out there, who may want to help a person in misfortune.

The burglery has cost me 5.000$ worth of equipment. And I dont hope or expect any help to replace this all. A police report is being made by the helpfull police, but sadly they sad that it is unlikely to receive my equipment back. Therefore I ask for a much smaller amount of help, just enough to set me up again with the most basic tools to resume work.

I have lend tools from friends at the moment so my work do not completely stand still. But I will need about 1000€ to get my basic tools covered. If we can reach that goal I will be able to work properly and create more art.

Your help means everything to me, small or big. I have created many works for the gaming community and am believing that it is one of the most generous and wonderfull communities out there. The goals of my artistic work has always been to bring joy and art on the gaming table and into fantasy books, creating worlds in the mind of the readers.

I am thankfull for each help and will list each name of donators
(if you wish) to be included in my next cartographic work: The complete Cartography of the Lost Realms.

Warmth regards,

27th December 2016,

Expanded Goal and duration of this campaign:
As I didnt expected the amount of help I received, the initial goal was set so I can buy basic replacement for my gear stolen. We have reached that goal, but if you feel like you want to support me, here is what happens to the funding beyond the initial goal:

1000€: I can buy basic gear.

2000€: I can buy gear close to the quality of the ones stolen.

2250€: This helps me with repairs and increasing security measures.

I have already received enough to help me. So anything beyond is a welcome extra. So please concider helping other people in more need of help than me.

I will close this campaign on 31th January 2017.
