Replacement eBicycle for Chris's Work Commute
As many people may know, Christopher’s father passed on June 19th. In an effort to relieve his mother of additional stress and to help keep her safe during the COVID-19 stay at home orders, Chris decided to purchase an eBike on June 21st that would allow him to commute to and from his job in Seaside without requiring he ask his mom for rides. This not only allowed him to help feel that he was doing his part to protect his mom but also allowed him more independence.
Sadly, he did not have the bike a week before it was stolen (even though it was locked up). He has filed a police report but due to the cost and newness of the bike it will most likely never turn up and he cannot afford to purchase a new one. We, his family, have put together this GoFundMe campaign to request donations from the community to help fund the purchase of a new eBike, a heavy duty lock, and GPS tracker (which he was saving up as his next purchase). Please donate any amount you can; every little bit helps. We may not be able to get the exact bike he originally purchased but are hoping to find one that is as similar in features as possible.
Electra Townie Go 7D StepThrough $1,500
Kryptonite New York FAHGETTABOUDIT Lock $135.00
The amount we're requesting in the campaign will cover the purchase of the items listed above, a GPS tracker, and all taxes/fees.
PS For those who may not know Christopher and have found this campaign online: Chris is on the spectrum and has worked extremely hard to find ways in which to be as independent and self-reliant as possible. This was a real blow towards his goal of not relying on family or friends to get him to and from work.
