For 70 years Troop 15 has been serving Stamford and the surrounding communities. Youth participants in the program learn outdoors skills, leadership and civic responsibility through the program created by the Boy Scouts of America. Throughout its years in services Troop 15 has helped 100’s scouts and provided 1000’s of service hours to the community.
Last week our Boy Scout Troop (Troop 15, Stamford, CT) had our trailer stolen from our meeting location at Temple Sinai in Stamford, CT. This trailer was used as our primary means for transporting equipment for troop events to help ease the burden on parents driving and ensure the greatest number of youth possible can participate in event. The equipment that was in the trailer was all thrown into the woods but the trailer itself still represents a large expense that wasn’t expected.
In normal years our troop relies on selling popcorn to raise most of our funds. Due to the difficulties of selling presented by Covid-19 we have been severely hamstrung in our abilities to fundraise. The money raised from this fundraiser will go directly to buying and outfitting a new trailer for our troop to continue providing an amazing program for the youth participants.
How the money will be spent from this fundraiser:
-$2,000-3,000 On Replacing the Trailer
-$1,000-1,500 On Outfitting the Interior
-Remainder on Improved Locking and Security Devices Such as Wheel Locks
