This is love, perseverance, strength and faith and it made my heart burst into a million tiny pieces! This is my dear friend, Mike, CLIMBING THE STAIRS FOR THE FIRST TIME IN 2 YEARS!! He suffered numerous strokes and underwent multiple heart surgeries, due to an infected heart valve as a result of a congenital heart defect, in 2019. With the unwavering support of his family, Mike has had to relearn how to do everything. Traci has his back, literally and figuratively, and is the epitome of strength and grace under the most challenging of circumstances. I am so inspired by and proud of my friends.
As you can imagine, months in the hospital, numerous surgeries and years of physical, occupational and speech therapy is VERY expensive and the bills just keep coming. Insurance only covers a small portion. Mike needs care 24/7. Traci works part time as a nurse, but needs to pay a caregiver to come to stay with Mike while she is at work. The Shimps are carrying a very heavy load and persevering like champs! Let's pour some love on the Shimp family and help to lighten their load - at least a little bit. Thank you so much!
