Replace the burned LGBTQ+ books!

Donation protected
On October 19, 2018, the leader of a religious group in Orange City, Iowa, Paul Dorr, filmed himself  burning  four LGBTQ+ children's books from the Orange City Public Library.

The books burned include: "Two Boys Kissing,"  a young adult novel by David Levithan; "Morris Micklewhite and the Tangerine Dress,"  by Christine Baldacchino; "This Day In June,"  a picture book about a pride parade, by Gayle E. Pitman; and Suzanne and Max Lang's "Families, Families, Families!" , about nontraditional families.

I'm starting this gofundme campaign to replace those burned books ($54.83 total) for the Orange City Public Library. If we exceed that target, $2741.50 would buy the set for one public library in every state. If we were to raise the astronomical figure of $496595.31, we could purchase the set for each of the 9057  public libraries in the US

LGBTQ+ children and their peers need positive resources in their lives, not the negative influence of hateful adults, and definitely not the dystopian nightmare of book burnings.

So please support this effort with whatever amount you can. 100% of funds raised will go directly toward purchasing these four books for as many libraries as possible, starting with Orange City Public Library.
