Replace Handicapped Veteran's Stolen Van
Donation protected
My brother-in-law John, who is a handicapped Vietnam Veteran, had his van stolen from Beth Isreal Hospital while he was with my sister Paula, his handicapped wife, in the emergency room.
Their adult handicapped son David, who is wheelchair bound, also lives with them.
John is the only driver in the family, the van was their only means of transportation. The van is ESSENTIAL to their lives. A van is necessary in order to accommodate David's wheelchair.
John has been diagnosed with PTSD and Diabetes, due to agent orange, with foot and leg complications. He has also undergone several surgeries for various conditions. His wife Paula has been diagnosed with CMT, a progressive, genetic neuromuscular disease, causing extreme difficulty walking and other complications. She must use a walker at this point to get around. She is also a severe asthmatic. David suffered a near COMPLETE Aortic Dissection. He is one of the few people to survive this. He was 27 at the time, spent 4 1/2 months inpatient, had three ten hour surgeries (2 open heart, 1 vascular) which included an artificial heart valve. David was left paralyzed and with MANY other complications.
John and Paula are retired, living on a fixed income, David is also on a limited income. They are UNABLE to afford a new van.
Funds are desperately needed as soon as possible.
Any donation, large or small is greatly appreciated!!
We thank you in advance for your generosity.
I am Paula's sister, Faun.
