Replace a Student's Stolen Switch
Donation protected
I am a public high school teacher. One of my students, a really kind and hardworking 11th grader, had his beloved Nintendo Switch and all of his games stolen not too long after the Christmas break. This kid has maintained an incredibly positive attitude about the experience by focusing on the idea that "it's just a material thing". However, this is still truly an upsetting loss. A gaming console may not seem like the most important thing in the world, but it is a form of release and comfort during the stresses of adolescent life. On a teacher's salary, I can't afford to just go ahead and buy him one, but I would really love to help this kid out. If the money is raised, the plan is to use it to get him a Switch that comes with $35 of eShop credit, and use the rest for a Gamestop gift card so that he can replace a lost game or two.
