Replace 1999 BMHS State Hockey Championship Sign

Hi, My name is Steve Johnson. I am a retired Beloit Memorial High School teacher, baseball coach and umpire, hockey coach and referee, and lifelong Purple Knight fan. The pictured sign commemorates the 1999 WIAA Boys’ Ice Hockey State Championship won by BMHS student athletes. It has resided at the southwest corner the Beloit Memorial Campus at the intersection of Liberty and Fourth. I tried to scrub it up some, but was only able to remove about half of the grime accumulated over the last 23 years. The School District decided to remove it and I offered to lead the effort to replace it. The replacement cost is $440. I’m appealing to BMHS hockey alumni and lifelong Purple Knight fans and supporters like me. Any overages will be split equally FIVE ways between the Athletic Funds for BMHS Hockey and Baseball, the Beloit Youth Hockey Association, Beloit Citywide Youth Softball and the Fran Fruzen Purple Knight Scholarship Fund. Thank you for your contributions and consideration.
