The funeral is planned for Tuesday, August 13th.

About the Fundraiser
This fundraiser was organized by the Kerala PEI Cultural Association (KPCA) in close coordination with Varkey’s family in India and his cousin in PEI, Wilson Baby.

Wilson Baby, designated as the beneficiary, will withdraw the donations and use the funds to directly pay the funeral home and airline service providers for repatriation costs. Any remaining amount will be transferred to Varkey’s mother, Bindhu Peter.

A Note of Gratitude
From the bottom of our hearts, we thank each person who stood with us through this unimaginable loss. Every contribution, message, and prayer has brought comfort and strength to Varkey’s grieving family.

May his soul rest in eternal peace, and may God grant strength and solace to all who mourn his loss.

With deep sorrow and heavy hearts, we share the untimely passing of Varkey Peter (22), a beloved young man from Olamattom, Thodupuzha, Idukki, who was residing in PEI, Canada. His sudden departure has left his family, relatives, and friends in profound grief.

Varkey was the ray of hope for his family. He is survived by his parents, his older sister, and his younger brother, who is currently a Grade 11 student. His mother, Bindhu Peter, is a cancer survivor who still requires ongoing follow-up treatments in India. The loss of Varkey is not only an emotional tragedy but a devastating blow to a family that has already endured so much.

Varkey came from a humble family, and his final wish is to be laid to rest in his homeland, surrounded by his loved ones. Arranging the repatriation of his body to India involves significant and unexpected expenses, including transportation, legal procedures, and funeral arrangements.

Through this fundraiser, we are seeking support to send Varkey’s body back to India, so his family can perform the final rites with dignity and peace. Any contribution, big or small, will help ease the financial burden on his grieving family during this extremely difficult time.

This fundraiser is organized by the Kerala PEI Cultural Association (KPCA). We are in direct contact with Varkey’s family in India and his cousin here in PEI, Wilson Baby.

Wilson Baby (Varkey's cousin) has been designated as the beneficiary of this campaign.

Wilson Baby will withdraw the donations to his bank account. He will use these funds to directly pay the funeral home and airline service providers to facilitate the repatriation of Varkey's remains to India. Any remaining funds after these costs will be transferred directly to Varkey's mother, Bindhu Peter.

We kindly ask for your prayers, compassion, and support. Let us come together as a community to help bring Varkey home and stand with his family in their moment of deepest sorrow.

May his soul rest in eternal peace, and may God grant strength and comfort to all who mourn this loss.
