Saludos. Thank you all for visiting this Go Fund me page for Carlos Edén Maidel. This page was created to raise money for Carlos whose body must be cremated and returned to Chile. Sadly, his family needs help paying for this service. They will greatly appreciate any assistance you can offer!

Carlos Edén Maidel was born in Puerto Eden in the Chilean Patagonia 80 years ago. He was one of the last Kawéskars. He was also considered a living treasure of Humanity by the Unesco. He was a political refugee, organizer in the New York City Chilean diaspora, and lately, a member of the Permanent Forum in the United Nations for the Indigenous People

in the continent. Carlos was a tireless activist for indigenous rights.

Carlos passed away on March 4th, 2023, but his remains are still at the funeral home awaiting cremation. If you are interested in helping Carlos fulfill his dying wish to be returned to his ancestors in the Fjords and channels of Patagonia, please donate to this Go Fund Me.
