Repairs To The Hoggery
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Siobhan and I started Wildflower Hedgehog Rescue over 4 years ago from home, to rehabilitate sick and injured hedgehogs after a period of volunteering for another rescue.
In October 2023, Storm Babet swept across the UK causing much devastation including to our Hoggery. Our rescue suffered a major roof leak damaging all the internals, which have since been removed, but we haven’t had the funds to be able to make the necessary repairs. Due to this we made a tough decision to downsize our rescue and operate from our unused dining room in the house, which is small in size and not ideal!
Year on year, we are seeing an increase in hedgehogs who need our help and like most rescues, our resources are stretched to breaking point so we can accommodate these unwell animals. This is the first year we have ever had to close our doors and say no to anymore admissions for a period of time due to insufficient space, to keep up with demand. And this was a truly heartbreaking and stressful time for us.
This is where we need your help. We need to have our hoggery back in operation, ready for spring 2025, so our patient capacity can be increased, meaning we can admit and rehabilitate more patients and help to increase the dwindling hedgehog population.
Hedgehogs are already on the verge of extinction, and we want to do everything we possibly can to prevent this!
Something as small as £1 can make all the difference. Every penny from this fundraiser will be used to repair the Hoggery. This year has been exceptionally tough with the limited space and resources we’ve had available. We cannot continue another year without our fully equipped Hoggery, so we can provide the best care possible to many sick and injured hedgehogs.
Please help us and our hedgehogs
Thank You x
