On Thursday May 21st, a large oak tree fell onto my parent's house piecing the roof in several places and  creating one giant hole. The tree broke one roof support beam and crushed through into the laundry room and kitchen. Because of all the rain these last few weeks, there is also some water damage to the ceiling. My parents, Roger and Karen Safrit, were very fortunate not to get hurt when it fell. However, they cannot stay in the home until the roof is repaired so the power can be restored. 

Unfortunately, due to health issues during the past year, my parents had to cancel their house insurance to pay for the medical bills. With no house insurance the full burden of repairing and replacing the roof falls on them.  They are looking into assistance from other sources, but anything could help! 

We estimate that the total cost to repair the house is somewhere around $20,000 to $25,000. We are only asking for whatever you can do to help, I know that it is a very trying time right now, and anything is appreciated. If you cannot donate money and would rather donate your time, please message me for more information. 

Our hope is to have the house repaired and livable by mid July or sooner.
