My dad, Michael Koland, will undergo major heart surgery on May 14th to replace his aortic valve, repair an aortic aneurysm, and bypass one of the major arteries in his heart. This will be my dad's second major heart surgery, as his first one was when he was 19 years old, which further complicates this upcoming surgery. I am asking for your help with my dad's and stepmom's hotel and airfare expenses so they can focus on surgery and lengthy recovery. He will be having his heart surgery at the Cleveland Heart Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio which is the absolute best place to have this type of procedure. He and my stepmom will need to be in Cleveland for at least 15 days (if not more). A minimally invasive surgery is not possible due to the aortic aneurysm. If you are unable to donate, please please please keep my dad in your prayers during this time <3. This is a totally unforeseen emergency that none of us expected, so anything you can do to help is very much appreciated! The picture above was when my dad was admitted to the hospital in Lake Havasu. He was having difficulties breathing, struggling with day to day activities, and his blood levels were really high. We found out the next day that he needed to have heart surgery sooner than later.
