Rebuilding School for Haitian Students
Donation protected
Breath of Life Christian Academy of Taifer is located in the mountainous area of Carrefour, Haiti. Children whose families cannot afford the $5 per month tuition are graciously admitted free-of-charge. Some students walk up to four hours (one way) to attend classes from kindergarten through 6th grade.

In 2010 the school building sustained considerable damage in the magnitude 7.0 earthquake that devastated the country. The damage to the building rendered most of it unsafe for use.

Without the funds to repair the school, an alternative shelter was erected using sheet metal so that classes could continue.

It has been almost 10 years since the earthquake and students and teachers are still assembling under those roasting metal roofs for school! Many of us understand the discomfort of trying to sleep without AC on a hot summer night in America, but can you imagine trying to focus and learn with no reprieve from the intense heat of a hot Haitian day? They do it, because there is no alternative, but we can help!
For $9000 the school building can be completely repaired. Children can return to the more moderate temperatures of concrete classrooms, having one less obstacle to overcome to obtain an education.
In order to have the building ready by the time school starts up in September 2019, construction will have to begin as soon as possible. Will you consider donating today and, by doing so, invest in the vital education of these children?
