The Thompson Road bridge in Oak Creek Canyon needs urgent permanent repairs after a major flood on November 1, 2026 severely damaged the bridge over Oak Creek. This bridge is a vital crossing for the Thompson community, and when the creek was raging like a river, residents and renters on the east side were stranded for three days until emergency repairs could be completed.

Emergency work was done to create a safe way out, including hiring a road crew and bringing in fill, but those repairs were only temporary. The flood tore away part of the bridge roadway, and permanent repairs are now needed to replace the damaged concrete roadway cap and weld the steel supports. Without this work, the damage could get worse, especially with more severe weather on the way.

This is about keeping a secure way across the creek for everyone who depends on this bridge, even when it is not raining. The community relies on this crossing every day, and losing it would create serious safety concerns for the people who live, rent, and travel on this side of Oak Creek.

Contributions to this fundraiser will go toward the permanent bridge repairs. If funds remain after construction is complete, they will be used to repair potholes along the road. Please consider donating and sharing this fundraiser to help protect this essential access route for the Thompson community.
