Repair of Water Heater

My name is Christine Edwards. I am a senior living on a fixed income and last week my seventeen year old water heater decided it was done and quit functioning. Unfortunately I do not have sufficient funds to replace it. Although I have friends helping me it is not sufficient. Any help, no matter how small would be gratefully received.
