Dyllan Needs Your Help

Dyllan is my 16 year old stepson. His dental health has always been an uphill battle due to his disabilities accompanied with Mainecare dental insurance. There are a very low number of dentists that accept Mainecare compared to how many dentists there are. Dyllan has never really been on a normal cleaning schedule because of the challenges that come along with providing the dental care. He needs iv sedation to be treated properly. Because of this we would constantly be referred to another place, because they couldn't help him. Late last year I found myself in a position where I was able to get a family dental plan through my employer. We finally found a dental provider that is set up to meet Dyllan's needs and have him set up on a regular cleaning schedule. But they don't have an in-house anesthesiologist, so we have to hire a travelling anesthesiologist. This comes at a cost of $850/hr! After his first visit we were finally able to get all the details with a plan in place. Because he was pushed off by so many he now needs extensive repairs to save his teeth. They are estimating 7 hours to complete the dental care he needs. The total for anesthesia is $5,950.00 that must be paid in full at the time of the appointment with a deposit upfront. The quote I received from the dentist was a total of $17,895.00. I have to pay $11,358.30 for the dental work prior to the appointment which is scheduled in October. This is a total dollar amount of, $17,308.30 that I need to come up with before late October. I have been doing what I can to raise funds. I am selling my vehicle and anything else of value to provide this care for him. I am looking for a local venue that I can host a fundraiser with games and other activities where the community can come together. Dyllan is an amazing 16 year old who just started his junior year of high school. He has always been somewhat of an adrenaline junkie. Over the past few years he has found his love for dancing and competing in competitive sports. His school has an amazing unified sports program where he plays on the bowling, bocce, and basketball teams. As a teenager life can be tough enough. For anyone. Even though he has always had to overcome more obstacles than most, it won't bring him down. He is the happiest, most smiling and genuinely loving person you will meet in this lifetime.
