Imagine getting up early to attend your church on Sunday morning only to arrive and realize that your building has been vandalized! No water, electricity, gas, or peace of mind.
Beth Salem Presbyterian Church has been the target of several vandalistic attacks. The first incident occurred in June 2023 when someone set the Laing building on fire. A good Samaritan called 911 and Beth Salem recovered thanks to their quick actions. There have been four incidents over the past year but the last act of vandalism has caused irreparable damage to our congregation's place of worship.
On April 1st, 2024 a man who covered his face was seen through the church's Ring camera and shortly after this sighting the camera lost its connection. It is believed that the latest vandalism occurred in the days following the theft of the Ring cameras. The assailant(s) kicked in one of the exterior walls and broke into the building. They took all of the electrical wirings from our power main and they damaged the water pipes and gas line. Unfortunately, Beth Salem has been forced to temporarily close its doors and worship remotely. The congregation is unable to afford the costly repairs that are needed to attend services safely.
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” Hebrews 11:1
These cruel actions have shaken our church family but we will never be deterred from praising and worshipping God! The frequency at which the acts of vandalism have taken place in recent months has left our church financially strained. We are asking for your help to successfully repair our church building. Please consider donating today!
