Hi, I'm fundraising to repair a school I came across during my travels in Yemen, filled with the most beautiful and sincere children I have seen in all my days.

The school is located in Diksam, Socotra, Yemen, and a little girl named Niqua (pictured) befriended me with the small amount of English she had learned at school and melted my heart. The children live in extreme poverty, rarely even with shoes, and I'd love to do something to help these gorgeous kids.

The items that need to be repaired in the school are as follows:

1. 12 x classroom blackboards. ($95 each) - see photo below of current state of blackboards/whiteboards

2. 2 x water tanks to store drinking water. ($200 each)

3. 2 x bathrooms that need repairing. (quote still pending)

4. Repair broken glass in doors and replace locks on door. (quote still pending) - see photos below of current state of doors

5. Backpacks and pens for 272 students. ($20 each) - see photo below of the backpack that Metaq is proposing we purchase for the students

I have a connection on the ground in Yemen who will purchase and supply all the goods directly to the school (rather than this money going through a charity). For those of you who may have been on the Yemen tour with me, Methaq is the one who is facilitating this for us.
