My name is Malick and I started learning martial arts at a young age in my home country of Mali in West Africa. My passion quickly turned to a serious study of taekwondo and I was the Mali National Champion from 1986 to 1993. When I came to New York City in 1993 for the World Taekwondo Championships at Madison Square Garden, I decided to stay. Competition and training turned into teaching and I knew this was what I wanted to do as my career.
My wife Andrea did not do any sports or have any martial arts training when we first met. She has a degree in art but works at our local hospital as a data project manager. She was instrumental in helping me open my own school in 2002 where I could share my love of taekowndo and bring a positive impact to our community.
Now 19 years later, we have four boys and and have built an extended family that has brought together people from all backgrounds, places, and walks of life, all joined by our shared love of martial arts. When we had to close our location in 2019, it was with the promise that we would open again when the time was right.
Now is that time. My ultimate goal is to reopen a first class facility with added fitness programming for seniors, new judo and jujitsu classes, and an expanded kettlebell program. We are excited to bring our martial arts family back and start growing it again.
Thank you for considering offering your support. Your gift helps our beloved taekwondo studio reopen in our community.
With gratitude,
Master Fall
