Rent Support for Grieving Indigenous Family
Weytk/Hello, my name is Bethany and I’m organizing for a good friends family who prefer to remain anonymous.
I am organizing on behalf of an Indigenous family living in so called BC who have had a tremendous amount of loss over the past months, including immediate family members, aunties, uncles, cousins and community members. This family is struggling with both having resources to grieve and rest, but also having funds for basic necessities for rent. This is causing enormous stress for a family that needs time to rest and grieve their loved ones, not have to worry about shelter for a mother and her children. I created this gofundme with the permission and support of the family to help keep them housed and all funds raised are going directly to the family to be used for rent, basic necessities, and any extra raised used for self care during their time of grief.
With all of the discussion around the children found at Kamloops Indian Residential School, it’s important to remember to support and uplift the descendants and relatives that attended residential schools, financially and otherwise.
Kukstsemc for reading and for donating. This family gives back to community tremendously and is a vital part of our communities and we need to show them so so so much love during this time.
