We have watched as federal agents from ICE harass and abduct our neighbors and friends. Many immigrant families are doing everything they can to stay housed during this extremely scary and uncertain moment— which has caused them to lose critical income. Watching neighbors in our community face fear and instability without support is not something we’re willing to accept.
We are fundraising $3200 to help three Minneapolis families cover rent and utilities expenses for the month of February. The families we are directly supporting have children at home and our #1 goal is to make sure they are safe and avoid displacement while they work through next steps.
This fundraiser is organized by ally community members in South Minneapolis. We are people committed to supporting these families directly, carefully, and with respect for their privacy. This is one tangible way we can protect our neighbors and respond with care, dignity, and solidarity.
Safety matters: identifying details will not be shared publicly. Donations will be distributed privately and directly, with safety as the top priority.
If donations exceed our goal, remaining funds will be used to support other Minneapolis families facing similar housing instability.
