Rent fund for an unemployed veteran

Hi, I'm Jesse. As many of you know, I was unjustly terminated from my overseas contract recently, and I've been unable to find work in my field of information technology since I returned. Because I was working overseas, I have to apply for unemployment benefits in the state where my employer is incorporated according to what they told me. That state is Colorado, but I live in California and have never used their benefits before, and they apparently work quite differently.
Since I applied in December, Ive spoken with two different agents who gave me incorrect information and even said they were making certain claims for me, such as applying for benefits back dated to my termination date in November. I didn't apply in November because you don't have to file immediately in California and I was dealing with a lot of emotional trauma from not only being discriminated against for my mental health and being fired, but also with my divorce.
Coping with all of this while being an unmedicated bipolar with no insurance has been hard, and I filed when things had calmed down a bit. In California, that wouldn't have been a problem, but Colorado has denied my claim for back payments. I have the right to appeal when the paperwork arrives in the mail, but until then I have bills I have to pay and I'm running out of food - and they've only decided on my back pay, they're still investigating my employers claims regarding my unemployment.
This entire process is substantially different than California's and it's affecting my quality of life and that of my roomates. I need to come up with the rent, which should have been paid with the money that the unemployment agents told me I would receive for November and December at the start of January. Colorado unemployment is now telling me that they not only do not pay back payments, but they don't pay benefits prior to making a decision about whether the termination was justified, which is also different than California. In California, I'd be able to apply and collect benefits while the state makes a decision.
Needless to say, this is a serious problem for me as I'm completely broke and not only need to pay bills and eat, but to help care for the foster dog I took in order to keep him out of the pound. I know that none of these things are your problems, so any donations you can make are extremely appreciated.
Thank you for all the kindness that you've shown me and continue to show me.
