Ren's Fund for Fighting

'Ello internet, my name is Jamie.
How to write about something that I won't say out loud, because saying it makes it real? My niece, Ren, has leukemia (AML). She's 10 months old. How this is possible is beyond me.
Ren is the sweetest wee babe, who laughs often and has an easy, ear to ear smile. She loves long walks (which are less like walks and more like naps), a good book, stealing baby-sized bites of ice cream from supervising adults, cuddles with her pooches - and above all - Ren loves the tickle monster. At 10 months, she's already established a very serious interest in the drums; video proof available upon request.
The exact moment Ren became my favorite person, aside from the moment she was born, is still vivid in my mind. This tiny little human - freshly bathed, sporting a purple onesie and clean diaper - was placed in my eager arms. She looked into my eyes, made the most adorable cooing noise, and proceed to poop on me. That diaper did not stand a chance. This was the moment folks, that I learned the true meaning of "unconditional love."
Ren is currently getting some of the best treatment modern science can offer. My family and I know our blessings when we see them - and I want to say a big thank you to all the doctors and nurses and support staff who have made this whole situation bearable. To the nurse who sat next my brother and his wife with Ren in her arms so they could sleep, you will never know how much that means to those of us who want to be there, but can't because chemo treatments will make that impossible for the foreseeable future.
I cannot wait to learn more about Ren. To watch her grow into her own person, with opinions and aspirations. I can't wait to hear her voice, to hear her thoughts, to have conversations. Most of all, right now, I cannot wait to hug her.
We're looking for support. However you communicate healing energy, that's what we need; good vibes, your thoughts and your prayers. I'm setting up this Gofundme because it's the only way I know how to help Ren right now. If you would like to make a financial contribution, please know no amount is too small. Additionally, if you find yourself with a surplus of cash flow and don't know what to do with it, boy have I got a solution for you!
** Should this fundraiser exceed what is needed, there will be a donation made to the fantastic oncology department where Ren is receiving her treatment.
It's impossible for a 10 month old to understand the impact she's made in this world - the joy and love she's created in my family and our community. I want to say to anyone else who might be experiencing a similar situation, that you are not alone. This journey will not be easy. The love and support pouring in is FELT and so appreciated.
The easiest way to help is to share Ren's story. Everyone loves a good email chain, group chat, repost, etc. etc., ammirite?
With all the sincerity I can muster, thank you. Thank you for reading this. Thank you for your love and support.
