Hi! My name is Anghelo George Eleftheriou, and I am raising funds to help renovate our beloved Greek Orthodox Church. This place has been more than just a building to me—it has been a source of faith, community, and connection with God.

While a church is a place of worship, I believe its most vital heartbeat is the community within its walls. To me, the people around you are the most important part of any spiritual journey. This church has provided me with a profound sense of belonging—a place where faith isn't just practiced, but shared through friendship, support, and collective joy.

This community has been the catalyst for my deepening relationship with God. Coming from Cyprus, I was used to hearing the hymns sung only in Greek. While beautiful, there was often a barrier to my full understanding.

In this church, the hymns are sung in both Greek and English, which has been a revelation for me. For the first time, I can fully grasp the depth and poetry of our worship. This bridge between languages has allowed me to engage with my faith on a level I never thought possible, turning every service into a moment of true connection.

On May 3rd, 2026, I’ll be taking on the Southampton Half Marathon with a goal to finish in under 1 hour and 30 minutes. While the race is a physical challenge, my real "why" is the Greek Orthodox Church and the incredible people who make it a home.

Where will the money go?

Renovations of the church and its hall will be conducted with the money donated. The church is getting old, and through your generous contributions, the funds will go directly toward necessary updates, ensuring that this sacred space remains a welcoming and inspiring home for our community.

How much money needs to be raised?

I've set the goal to be £500 however any money, whether more or less than the target amount will be massive in aiding the Church's endeavours.
