Let's renovate Kimintet School - KENYA
Donation protected
Hello! We are Carla, Giulia, and Francesca, co-founders of "A.PART - ACTIONS FOR PEOPLE, ARCHITECTURE, RIGHTS, TERRITORY", a non-profit organization whose aim is to promote development cooperation and international solidarity projects with local communities in the Global South.
The soul of our projects is to establish connections with communities and territories:
currently, we have an active project in Kenya, in the Masai Mara conservation area with the local population called "Karibu Kimintet - The school in the savannah": https://www.instagram.com/karibukimintet_ita/.
Together, we want to renovate the Kimintet primary school in the rural village of Kirindon to guarantee the right to education for all students and to secure their safe access to water and food.
We have just completed the first intervention in the field, the construction of the school library, and also obtained 300 books as a donation from the Kenyan National Library in Nairobi, so that students can now have a safe space to study, read, and play.
Our ambitious commitment to the families and the community is to renovate the old school to improve its condition and ensure basic services for children, like a seed of equality so that all kids, even in the most vulnerable areas of the world, can study and grow freely.
We plan to carry on the following actions:
- a drinkable water collection point, to also serve as a community gathering point;
- a kitchen for the children to have, at least, one meal per day;
- a new house for the teachers;
- interior renovation of all classrooms;
- new toilet blocks to ensure proper hygiene;
- a playground;
- tree planting and a vegetable garden;
- a safe space for the most vulnerable kids.
Every contribution is crucial: by reaching the goal of €5000, we could carry out these actions, prioritizing the purchase of water collection and purification systems as a fundamental step towards the subsequent installation of the kitchen, sanitation spots, and irrigation of outdoor spaces.
Funds collected will be directly managed by our association with total transparency: as soon as we reach our goal, we founders, together with a team of volunteers, will travel back to Kenya to implement this. We also work in close contact with our local partner, Mara Osero Project ( https://www.instagram.com/mara_osero_project/ ) led by Jeff Kamoye, our community representative.
Every contribution, big or small, can be meaningful for our great project. Thank you for your support and for being part of this incredible change!
Asante Sana!
P.S. When you get to the point of donating set the "Voluntary Contribution to GoFundMe" to 0% otherwise the money goes to the website. :)
