Hi I'm Ren/Oisín (they/he) ! I am a trans genderqueer person based in Glasgow, who is saving for top surgery early next year.

I've been on the NHS gender clinic waiting list for over 3 years now - with no sign that an appointment is coming anytime soon, and with the added barrier that it is significantly difficult to get a top surgery referral on the NHS without first being on HRT. I've therefore decided to turn to private healthcare to access this surgery that I desperately need, want, and have been saving and preparing for.

My surgery is booked for the 30th of January 2025 and will cost around £8800, not including recovery and accommodation costs. I've been working and saving for over two years now - and although I've saved near half of what I'll need, I have spent over £1500 already on doctors appointments and consultations and it's come to the point where I need support. If you are able to, I would so appreciate a donation or a share of this page, and hope with your help and continued saving I will get to my goal in time :)

I also intend to have a fundraising event in Glasgow at some point this year so keep an eye out for that too !

We have almost no access to the care we need to live full, happy lives, forced to work ourselves to the bone to save for healthcare that we should have for free. Until we are liberated from the cruelty of this transphobic government - that seeks to strangle not just ours but everyone's access to public healthcare - every single penny you donate to a trans persons gofundme is crucial, and so so appreciated.
