Mom's Medical Fund

My mom, Renne Kruger, has ‘severe aortic valve stenosis’ and needs to have heart valve repent surgery on August 27th.  This is an open-heart surgery. She will need 4-12 weeks of recovery. The doctor’s feel that this was a birth defect or possibly the result of a high fever when she was in coma from measles related encephalitis as a child.

My mom is a Mom that puts her kids before herself.  I'm talking about the kind of Mom that read all the “What To Expect When Your Expecting” kind of books. Matter of fact, she was probably reading such a thing when she went to the beach in  Santa Cruz and dug a hole in the sand just big enough for her to lay her pregnant belly (with my brother and me inside).

Now she passes on her love and experiences to her granchildren, Owen and Sophia.

Just a few years ago, life circumstances forced Mom to start a new life for herself.  She began her own business care-taking for the elderly, while simultaneously learning to crochet and discovering she is an amazingly talented artist.

My Mom has had her share of unfortunate events in her life. She has been scuffed up and torn apart at times but she realizes, and is grateful for, the very, very good she has, too.

She is this crazy, beautiful, hectic, shy, artistic, loving, athletic, determined person. An incredible mom, friend, sister, and daughter.  She vigorously supports those causes she believes in (I wonder where Kevin and I get that from).  She would bend over backwards a thousand times over for the people she loves.  Let's just say she is that typical mom... but with nothing typical about her.

I would like to thank the people who have helped her so far and the people who will continuously do so.  Because her business is service-based, and therefore she will not be receiving any income while in recovery with the  potential of losing clients during her possible 12 week recovery, the help is much appreciated in every way.   Now she can simply worry about getting back to being healthy!

As soon as she told me about her surgery, my mind, being a jukebox that it is, immediately reverted back to a song by Reba McEntire and Carole King called "Everyday People,” which goes as follows:

..."Everyday People are the ones who are making miracles
And it's beautiful
Everyday People lifting up the world
Like an answered prayer
I thank God they're there
They're the one's who care
Everyday People

Doctor said ‘Good News we caught it soon enough, we can clear this up’
But she's 30 and single with two kids to raise
Times are tough these days
So her friends made some calls and the word spread around
How her bills got paid she don't know how"...

For those who cannot help, I truly, truly understand.  I ask, to pray to your god as I pray to my God for a safe surgery and swift recovery so my mom can live a long and vibrant life full of beauty, friends, and family...Amen.

I hope your family is doing well and you are making the most out of this short life!  Love you big!
