4/2/23
Renley has continued to become blocked (Plugs) he was sent to emergency today and required manual expressing of his bladder which showed some difficulties. He will be admitted to the Lort Smith Animal Hospital tomorrow 5/2/23 and monitored overnight until his emergency surgery Monday. "perineal urethrostomy" is a surgical procedure that is most commonly performed on male cats with a urinary obstruction. This procedure removes the narrowest part of the urethra (the tube that transports the urine from the bladder to the exterior of the body), allowing easier urination with a lower risk of reobstruction. This is major surgery and will require Renley to be hospitalised for 1-2 days with a long recovery. The estimated cost is $3k it's a big cost financially but if anyone can help even $2 will go a long way! we required to put in a deposit tomorrow of $1500. Please help beautiful sweet Renley
Renley has sadly become suddenly incontinent. His first vet visit was diagnosed with severe cysitis; He had blood work which showed anemia. Additionally, Renley had radiographs performed. With no progress and a sudden decline, Renley was sent to a specialist who suggested his previous findings of misshapen thoracic vertebrae are now compressing his spine, causing neurological disorders. His brain is no longer signalling his bladder to release urine, lacking control. He is currently with the specialist undergoing treatment and medication to help him urinate. If he cannot pass urine with medication in the next 24-48hrs, he will need to be hospitalised and have a urinary catheter placed over 24-48hrs. The estimated Hospital stay is $1,400-2,000. If anyone can help give Renley life-saving treatment please.
