Renita's Journey to Juilliard

Hi!

My name is Renita Lewis and I am an NYC based actor from Alabama. After six intense and amazing rounds of auditions I have been accepted into The Juilliard School for Acting. Each year Juilliard chooses 18 artists from thousands of applicants, so while I write this with a smile on my face and truly so much joy and gratefulness in my heart, I also write as a means to ask you, incredible people, to help this dream come true. The school has awarded me an extremely generous scholarship, but I still find myself in need of assistance. The program is rigorous and classes are from 9AM-10PM six days a week, which all but eliminates my ability to work during the school year.

As everyone and their mama knows, the life of an actor is not a simple or easy one. I wouldn’t change my path or journey for anything in the world. All of the twists and turns, all the hurt and beautiful sunshine has led me to this incredible opportunity but I do need some help. Whether that's with a donation, a share/ spreading of this, or just some encouraging words or pockets of wisdom, I would, with open and grateful arms, take it all.
