Renewal After Tragic Apartment Fire.
Donation protected
On April 15th, 2024 at 1:30 AM, Paula and I's apartment in Wichita, KS was caught on fire due to the negligent disposable of a cigarette by a neighbor - just 3 months after moving. Thankfully I woke up to the sound of rushing air being consumed by the fire. I got out of bed and rushed down my hallway to see a bright orange glow just beyond our living room window. I opened the front door and realized the whole top floor was already on fire. Paula and I immediately got out, walking under the flames and on top of partially burnt floor boards. I sustained 2nd degree burns to my left foot in the process (I've healed very well). What you see in the main picture is the exact moment my wife and I got out of the apartment - with maybe 30 seconds to spare before we would have had to make the 20 foot drop out of the back window.
We are grateful for our lives and are blessed by all of the support so far. We truly do have a wonderful set of family and friends. As of now, we are managing well, however, as we finally move into our house - as of the 10th of June, we are left to turn the house into a home.
I'm quite a prideful person, and often times to my detriment. I have trouble asking for help, and while we've already recieved much support, I still have people ask me how they could help. I'm grateful for all those who have and wish to help. My purpose here is to give those additional people who wish to assist a good avenue to do so if they please.
Any financial assistance will go towards refurnishing our home, repairing melted vehicle's, buying clothes and essentials.
God Bless
