Renew Laura's License, Renew Hope

Hello! I am Laura Woodward and I am trying to raise money to renew my Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license.

I have a spinal injury from my job and had surgery last year. My license was not renewed when I had my injury and last year due to a lack of funds. Those two renewals and late fees equal $750. I cannot return to work in direct patient care at this time, and likely never will. The 104 weeks of paid temporary disability through workers' comp has ended. I need to get a job, and utilizing my license will enable me to get a job with a living wage. Because of the physical, doctor-ordered limitations, there are not many jobs paying a decent wage that I am able to do. Fortunately, there seem to be a lot of jobs available that fit within these limitations and pay enough money for me and my family to not get even deeper in this financial hole. And all of those jobs require an active nursing license, which I do not currently have.

The only option I have now is to apply for state disability and that is not enough money to live on. Also, it can take months to even years. In this weird spot between now and the end of my workers' comp case, finding the right job for the right pay is critical.

I would love to get back to doing what I do best: taking care of people and making their lives the best I possibly can. Please help if you can!
