Rene's Fight For Her Life

Please excuse the straight forwardness as I type this holding back tears. Our dear friend Rene Terry was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic lung cancer two months ago. Aside from accepting this news, allowing me to do this has got to be one of the hardest things she has ever had to do. Those of you who know Rene know that she is the most selfless, liveliest person and she will do anything for anybody. Many of you may know Rene through the volunteer work she has done for her children's school sports. I have watched Rene give so much of herself to others, nursing her grandparents as well as her aunt and her own mother through cancer while still being an amazing mother to her 5 children. Seeing her like this is heart wrenching.

Rene has gone through two chemotherapy treatments so far and has decided to take on a holistic approach to healing as well. Her last chemo really took a toll on her and caused her to miss many days of work which has affected her whole livelihood. As her treatments progress her doctor has told her that each time will get harder and harder and that she will eventually no longer be able to work. I really hate seeing her like this, not to mention Rene has 3 young sons, the oldest being 15. a freshman at WMHS and the younger ones being twins ages 11, students at Ruckersville Elementary. Her boys depend on her daily, not only financially but she is also their "person" that they go to for everything! There is no bond like a son and his mother. Her sons are active in football and track, all three being William Monroe Dragons and Albemarle Patriots!

I know times are hard for a lot of people but if you are able, please consider donating to help Rene with her fight! If you are unable, we completely understand and just ask that you will keep her in your prayers and thoughts as she continues to fight the hardest battle of her life. As we know insurance does cover some of the medical expenses, but it does not cover everything because of the terminal diagnoses. Rene is desperately trying to stay alive and be on this earth with her children for as long as she is able. Any money raised will go towards helping Rene with her medical expenses as well as providing for her family and surviving the monthly cost of living. Thank you all so much in advance.
