Rene's Commissary Funds
Donation protected
Hey there,
As many of you know, Rene is facing challenging circumstances. I’m Carmen Angelica—a good friend of Rene’s, and I’m hoping we can raise enough money to give Rene as humane living conditions as possible while incarcerated.
I am reaching out for help because necessities in prisons are often paywalled by commissary. Many prisons, according to researchers, provide only one toilet paper roll every seven to ten days. The food is notoriously unappetizing, and even basic items like razors, extra clothes, extra soap, and extra tampons are considered luxuries that prisoners must pay for. Additionally, prisoners must cover the costs of mail service and extra phone calls.
To complicate matters, prisons often underpay or do not pay prisoners for their labor. That’s where your help comes in. I hope you join me in ensuring Rene has enough commodities to sustain a semblance of a humane prison sentence. Together, we can ensure Rene has the resources to keep in contact with the outside world, access information to continue her activism when free, and obtain everyday items for hygienic needs.
Any contribution will make a difference in Rene’s daily life in prison. Thank you for standing with us.
