Hi Renee's friends and family,
My name is Diana and I am a long-time friend of Renee's. I have created this gofundme account to help raise money for her living and medical expenses while she is recovering from brain surgery. She will not be able to work for several months and unfortunately her employer does not offer short term disability.
In 1984, Renee had one very large, benign tumor growing behind her right optic nerve. It had to be removed and in the process she lost the vision in her right eye. It was a long and difficult recovery. Within recent years they discovered that the tumor has grown back and is in close proximity of her left optic nerve. According to her most recent MRI the tumor has grown since we first discovered it in 2011. It is currently 2mm away from touching her left optic nerve so surgery is imminent. If she waits too long to have surgery she could be left completely blind. She is scheduled to have surgery at Barrow Neurological Institute (BNI) in early August with one of the top Neurosurgeon's in the country. We are confident in the care that she will receive and her surgeon's have given her a good prognosis.
Post-surgery, Renee will have friends and family be at the house to assist in her daily care. Any donations will be greatly appreciated and will be used for medical expenses and monthly bills. We are so grateful for your love and support during Renee's time of need.
