Ciao! Sono Lorenzo, il fondatore di Wargaming Ticino, ma soprattutto un appassionato di modellismo: quell'arte fatta di pazienza, pennelli minuscoli e tanta fantasia.

Dalla nascita della Wargaming Ticino, decisa assieme ad un socio altrettanto folle davanti ad un panino in una giornata d'estate, mi adopero per condividere questa passione con una community sempre più ampia, organizzando eventi e serate per diffondere l'hobby in Ticino.

Ho sempre voluto dare uno scossone profondo ai giocatori e agli hobbisti ticinesi, ma l'obiettivo sembrava sempre troppo lontano. Finché nel 2025 qualcosa è scattato e ho deciso di lanciarmi in un'impresa folle: organizzare un evento modellistico in Ticino!

Ma tra il dire e il fare si sa, c'è di mezzo il soldo... o era il mare?

Beh, comunque sia, a cena con un personaggio molto amato dalla community (gira e rigira, c'è sempre da mangiare in questa storia!), ho deciso che il WT Open sarebbe diventato realtà!

Ma... cos'è il WT Open, vi starete chiedendo?

È una fiera dedicata al modellismo:

Ma soprattutto, il WT Open è un sogno, l'espressione massima della passione e della voglia di condividere questo viaggio con il mondo.

Così, da questo slancio di pazzia ha preso forma la prima edizione, un percorso fatto di ansia, di paura di fallire, ma anche di grandi soddisfazioni e risultati.

Il 31 gennaio e 1 febbraio 2026 si sono riunite a Giubiasco centinaia e centinaia di persone, fra visitatori e hobbisti, per conoscere, condividere e celebrare quest'hobby.

La risposta della community è stata diretta, decisa ed emozionante. E allora, perché fermarsi qui? Perché non offrire di più?

Per il 2027 ho un sogno ambizioso!

Vorrei che il WT Open sia una festa per tutti. Nessun biglietto, nessuna barriera. Vorrei un evento accogliente, rilassato, aperto a tutti e a tutte le età, dove a parlare sia la passione.

Un luogo dove incontrare vecchi e nuovi amici, condividere la propria arte e scoprire qualcosa di nuovo!

Perché chiedo il tuo aiuto?

Organizzare un evento così grande ha dei costi: l'affitto, le luci, i tavoli per far dipingere i bambini, i premi per i ragazzi che si mettono in gioco...

Quello che per te potrebbe essere anche solo il costo di un caffè o di una pizza, per Wargaming Ticino significa tenere le porte aperte a tutti, gratuitamente, e la possibilità di offrire un fine settimana indimenticabile sia agli hobbisti che ai curiosi.

Non importa quanto doni, ogni franco è un mattoncino che crea le basi di questo bellissimo castello.

Hi! I'm Lorenzo, the founder of Wargaming Ticino, but above all, I'm a modeling enthusiast: that art made of patience, tiny paintbrushes, and a lot of imagination.

Since the founding of Wargaming Ticino, decided together with an equally crazy partner over a sandwich on a summer day, I've been working to share this passion with an ever-growing community, organizing events and evenings to spread the hobby in Ticino.

I've always wanted to shake up Ticino's gamers and hobbyists, but the goal always seemed too far away. Until, in 2025, something clicked and I decided to embark on a crazy undertaking: organizing a modeling event in Ticino!

But as we all know, there's a price to pay... or was it the sea?

Well, in any case, over dinner with a character much loved by the community (all things considered, there's always food in this story!), I decided that the WT Open would become a reality!

But... what is the WT Open, you might be wondering?

It's a fair dedicated to modeling:

A demo area where you can try out the hottest games of the moment, from Warhammer to Conquest;

An area dedicated to those new to this world, where they can paint their first miniature, regardless of age.

A painting competition open to all levels.

A stage for painting demonstrations and interviews.

And much more.

But above all, the WT Open is a dream, the ultimate expression of passion and the desire to share this journey with the world.

Thus, from this burst of madness, the first edition took shape, a journey filled with anxiety and fear of failure, but also with great satisfaction and achievements.

On January 31st and February 1st, 2026, hundreds of people, including visitors and hobbyists, gathered in Giubiasco to learn about, share, and celebrate this hobby.

The community's response was direct, decisive, and exciting. So why stop there? Why not offer more?

For 2027, I have an ambitious dream!

I want the WT Open to be a celebration for everyone. No tickets, no barriers. I want a welcoming, relaxed event, open to everyone and all ages, where passion speaks for itself.

A place to meet old and new friends, share your art, and discover something new!

Why am I asking for your help?

Organizing such a large event has costs: rent, lights, tables for the children to paint, prizes for the kids who get involved...

What might be just the cost of a coffee or pizza for you, for Wargaming Ticino means keeping its doors open to everyone, free of charge, and the opportunity to offer an unforgettable weekend to both hobbyists and the curious.
