Renate's Road to Recovery

Renate's friends and family have humbled us with their support ranging from hospital visits and overnight care to texts and prayers. THANK YOU! Several asked if DoorDash or gas gift cards would be appreciated by Mike and the kids. For small-town Oklahoma we thought the flexibility of GoFundMe would add convenience to their lives. They are also anticipating that Renate is in the early stages of a long recovery with (unknown but likely substantial) medical expenses, and which will prevent her from returning to her teacher paycheck for months.

Setback: Nov 18 single car accident. Due to the trauma, her memories are fuzzy. As an engineer I've done the math and she has broken over 5% of the bones in her body. Renate always was an overachiever! Her biggest challenge is that the numerous and varied breaks leave her with only one weight-bearing appendage.

Milestone 1: Released from ICU on Day 4

Milestone 2: Release from the hospital to Owasso in-patient rehab on Day 9 (about 45 min from home)

Goal 1: Strong enough to move to home by Christmas

Goal 2: Full recovery
