Renas Redo Lung Transplant Fund

My name is Faasega Vandermade and I started this gofund me account on behalf of my sister Rena and her husband Jimmy Laulilii , also their two kids Enesi and Carter.

Rena was born with a rare genetic disease called Cystic Fibrosis ,it affects mainly her lungs and pancreas.She has spent all life in and out of hospital fighting infections . In October 2020 Rena received the gift of a double lung transplant,She was doing well, up until last September when she caught Rhinovirus and Covid in December ,Her lungs are now in chronic rejection ,at 20% lung function Rena now relies on oxygen to do everyday tasks .

Her husband is the sole provider for the family both unable to get access to government assistance .Jimmy isnt able look after is wife like he wants to .

Rena is in the process of relisting for a second transplant ,It will require Jimmy to have a lot of time off to take Rena to appointment leading up to the transplant .After transplant Rena is expected to be in hospital for an extended ammount of time as redo transplant have a longer recovery period ,after she is discharged from hospital ,Rena is required to attend the lung and transplant clinic three times a week as well as rehab for 12 weeks .

Our family is hoping to raise enough money on here to help support Rena and family during this tough time so they can focus on Renas Recovery,

-medication for Rena

-groceries

-hospital parking

-toll fees

-accomodation closer to the hospital if needed.
