I am truly grateful and overwhelmed at the amount of support and love coming my way during these challenging times. I am in the end stages of chronic renal failure and am currently on dialysis. The dialysis is necessary at this time because my kidneys can no longer function on their own.
I am very close to getting a kidney transplant that I’ve been waiting 10 years for. I am working on 2 fronts:
1- I'm at the top of the list to receive a kidney transplant at Scripps Transplant Center in San Diego.
2- donor has volunteered to donate their kidney to me and they’re going through the testing process.
I want to make sure that my donor doesn’t miss out from income from being in the hospital and that they have a place to stay and rest in San Diego.
My insurance will cover all of my and my donor’s medical expenses while I’m recuperating in San Diego. I will be out of work and home-ridden for at least 2 months. My pet sitting business will remain operating with the help of my dedicated sitters. A lost day of pay for me is $225.
One of the most difficult parts is loss of wages for myself. That’s why I am reaching out to you.
COSTS INCLUDE:16
- Travel and lost wages for caretaker
- Food and extended stay lodging in San Diego
- Rent and monthly bills in Pasadena
- Lost earnings
- Pet care for Cookie (pictured), Greenlee, Eve & Suga
Transplantliving.org estimates that the total cost for a kidney transplant and everything involved can add up to $262,900. No donation is too small. If you cannot contribute financially, please share the link through your social media. I am eternally grateful for your support.
