Never had I imagined I’d be in this position, but my sweet Remy needs urgent help. He has been diagnosed with thrombocytopenia and a severe gastrointestinal bleed and requires ongoing blood transfusions to survive (update: 3 blood transfusions). Seeing him so weak and in pain is absolutely heartbreaking, and I’m doing everything in my power to get him the care he needs.
Remy has already needed multiple blood transfusions, a platelet transfusion, and just received a dose of vincristine, a chemotherapy drug, to help stabilize his condition. He now also needs a feeding tube.. The road to recovery is tough, and the cost of his treatment—including transfusions, hospitalization, and specialized care—continues to grow, now estimated at $20,000.
