Hello everyone,
My name is Joseph Quiroga, and I am Remy’s brother.
Remy passed away unexpectedly on December 4th, 2025. Our family is heartbroken, and we are reaching out for support to help cover the costs of their funeral and memorial services.
In life, Remy had a deep passion for helping others. That calling led them to earn a Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry from the University of Lethbridge, followed by a Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Victoria. Remy was deeply committed to making the world a kinder, more just place, and they lived those values every day.
To add to their many accomplishments, Remy also earned a black belt in Okinawa Shorin Ryu Karate Shinkokai—a testament to their discipline, perseverance, and strength.
Beyond their achievements, Remy had an incredible impact on the people around them. They were an active and proud member of the LGBTQIA2S+ community and a source of support, acceptance, and friendship to so many. Remy had a rare ability to make people feel seen, heard, and valued, often showing up for others in moments when it mattered most. They were a friend, an advocate, and a safe presence to countless people whose lives are better for having known them.
Any contribution, no matter the size, will help ease the financial burden on our family during this incredibly difficult time. If you prefer to donate directly, you may do so via e-transfer at [email redacted]
.
If you’re unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser is just as meaningful. Thank you for your kindness, love, and support as we honour Remy’s life and legacy.
