REMY COBURN & FAMILY
Donation protected
Upon experiencing repeated headaches, Remy went the Emergency Department in Kalamazoo, Michigan on Monday, March 18th. The staff quickly took Remy for thorough tests. The results from a CAT scan and MRI showed a mass on Remy’s brain. Remy was swiftly taken to Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital in Grand Rapids, Michigan and her medical team agreed that an Endoscopic Third Ventriculostomy (ETV) would be the best intervention to relieve the pressure caused by fluid. Remy went into surgery on Wednesday, March 20th and in the course of the surgery, doctors also skillfully took a biopsy sample for review to gain a better understanding of the tumor. Remy is now recuperating with her family and awaiting the results for next steps. She is tired but has a fabulous sense of humor and has been joking with family, visitors, and hospital staff. Remy is surrounded by a herd of stuffed animals to help keep her comfortable.
