Hi there, my name is Sarah, and I’m reaching out with a humble request for your help.

Last May, while I was out dog walking (my job and absolute passion!), one of my clients’ dogs accidentally crashed full speed into my leg. The impact was so strong it fractured my left tibia. I needed orthopaedic surgery to repair the break, and I now have a large metal plate and 8 screws holding my leg together.

Recovery hasn’t been easy. I’ve done everything I can to heal and get back to normal, but the metal hardware has been causing ongoing pain, discomfort, and limited mobility. My doctor has said I’m now eligible to have the plate and screws removed (YAY) — something I’ve been looking forward to for months.

Unfortunately, the wait time through the public healthcare system is so long, and I’m hoping to see a specialist privately so I can finally move forward without pain and put this whole ordeal behind me. This is why I’m starting this fundraiser — to cover the costs of seeing an orthopaedic surgeon and having the hardware removal surgery done privately.
