I lead crews of 5-30 volunteers 6+ a month, all year round, in a half dozen different parks and preserves in the North Carolina Triangle area. Each time I lead a group, we make a visible improvement on our environment, freeing struggling native trees from their invasive neighbors.
To give you a sense of the impact we can have in just a couple of hours, here's a section along Bolin Creek Trail filled with privet. Can't hardly see the trail.
One hour later....
You can see hundreds more photos of the many tree rescues we've done on my Triangle Rewilding drive.
I keep track of events and organize volunteers through my Rewild Earth website. I hope you'll sign up and join us.
I've spent close to $2000 on saws, loppers, shears, gloves, eye protection, etc. so that a volunteer can just show up at an event and get right to work. I'm happy to have spent my money that way. But as we expand our work, recruit more volunteers and use these tools more and more, well....I need to repair, replace and add gear.
So if you like what I am doing and would like to help out, donate some money and I will put it directly to use healing our planet.
Note: this is "just me." I do not have a non-profit organization. I am not a 501c3. You will not get tax break for giving me some of your hard earned (or perhaps even unearned) money.
You will, however, experience the intense satisfaction of having helped save the lives of our non-human neighbors.
Many thanks in advance,
