Those who know Remona know she is always doing for others. She is one of the most selfless, giving, and empathetic people I've had the pleasure to know.
For everyone who has been following her recent journey with her health, you know she has come up against challenging times with a dual diagnosis of multiple sclerosis and lupus. Navigating this has been beyond challenging, and now she finds herself in an even more complex situation and needs our help!
Remona's grandmother, who lives in Nevada, has been cared for by her daughter Lue Ann for many years. Her grandmother got sick a couple of weeks ago and had to stay in the hospital. When she was away, her daughter, Lue Ann, unexpectedly passed away in Remona's grandmother's home. Her body wasn't found for two weeks.
Remona's grandmother isn't allowed back into her home until a hazmat crew cleans the home, which isn't cheap. Social workers have been scrambling, trying to find somewhere for her grandmother to stay temporarily. There will be no one in Nevada left to care for her grandmother, so Remona will be flying her home to South Carolina.
Remona and her son Chase flew out to Nevada. Chase went with her to make sure she was safe due to the recent health challenges. Remona has had to pay for two plane tickets, a hotel room potentially for an entire month, a costly hazmat crew to clean the home, a dumpster, and movers to move all of her grandmother's belongings out of the house, along with paying for a dumpster and movers to move all of her Aunt Lue Ann's belongings out of her adjacent home.
Not to mention being out of work.
She is also juggling dealing with cremation arrangements for her aunt at the same time as finding a nursing home facility in South Carolina to put her grandmother. She will need three plane tickets back to get her, Chase, and her grandmother back to the East Coast. The stress she is under is beyond anything a human should have to bear and I want to lighten her load any way that I can.
Your donations will help with all of these unexpected, hefty expenses and help to keep Remona's stress levels down (okay, somewhat down) so her body can handle everything that needs to be done. Stress exacerbates multiple sclerosis and lupus, and I want to make sure she remains strong and healthy throughout this overwhelming experience.
Thank you for any support you may be able to offer, and please send Remona good energy and envision her coming through this strong.
